Mint Mark
does anyone know about a 1980 jefferson nickel with a micro p mint mark?
i was looking at my coin collection and i found a 1980 p nickel, the mint mark is smaller than the other 1980 p's that i have....anyone know if it may be an error?
Where it is true that they had increased the size of the mint mark in the mid 80's it does not explain why the mint mark that you have is smaller than the other ones of the same year. I would check with a coin collecting expert. I have been collecting for years and anytime that I find myself asking "what does this mean" or "what is this worth" I always consult International Coin and Currency.
