Rare Coin
i think i have a rare 2p coin?
i have a 2 pence coin and its unique, it has 2 bicycles on it with a number 2 under it and like a border of leaves around it- thats on one side. and one the other side its the queens head but its different to any other 2 p, 1997 Elizabeth ii, alos it says isle of man on. is this coin rare?
I'm afraid it is just a special edition coin minted by the isle of man to commemorate some cycle race, and from that point of view there were probably a fair few of them made at the time. There are loads of special edition coins minted for all sorts of events, so it probably has no high value.
For it to be valuable you need there to have been some error, such as a blank face, then they become massively collectable - why exactly I don't know.
