What can one see/do in Mukilteo, Snohomish County, Washington?
Bonus question: Did you hear the news about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) meetinghouse in Mukilteo that was arsonated over the weekend? Any thoughts on that? Be nice (never mind if you're being mean) for I am a Latter-day Saint living in Washington (just not in Snohomish County).
Back to original question: What can one see/do in Mukilteo?
There's nothing to do in Mukilteo anymore. It use to be a wonderful fishing village, with a few antique shops, and some actual farms up on the hillsides.
Then the developers came in, bought up all the property, bulldozed all the old history and charm of Mukilteo, and put up condominiums that sell for a LOT of money. The median income for people that live in Mukilteo is about $90,000. Does that give you an idea how many rich snobby people live there now?
You can get a traffic ticket in Mukilteo easy as pie, if you'd like. Just drive any car that costs less than $60,000 (or is not a fully restored classic), and the police are sure to pull you over and offer you a ticket.
I've lived in Western Washington almost my entire life. Grew up in Snohomish. Mukilteo was charming once upon a time. You could get great seafood there too, for a good price.
All that is now gone.
Yes, of course I heard about the fire. I'm LDS and live in Washington. I wonder if the arsonist will be surprised how quickly it's rebuilt? Mormons have been dealing with this for a few hundred years, wouldn't you say? I just wonder if any of the other churches in Western Washington which the LDS helped rebuild after arson fires are going to bother showing up to help rebuild the LDS one?
Seems a shame to burn down the church of the people who showed up with semis filled with food, water, diapers, emergency supplies just SIX HOURS after Hurricane Katrina ended, doesn't it? (Mormons in general, not that the Mukilteo Church specifically sent a semi)
